Bariatric Surgeons
What have YOU got to lose?
| Sherman C.
Yu, M.D.
 |
Dr. Sherman Yu is a native Houstonian who
grew up in the Southwest part of the city.
He attended the University of Texas at
Austin where he graduated with High Honors
in Chemical Engineering, and then returned
to Houston where he received his medical
degree at Baylor College of Medicine, with
honors in his surgical rotations.
After finishing his studies, Dr. Yu
performed his surgical training at the
University of Colorado Health Sciences
Center in Denver. It was there that he
developed a special interest in minimally
invasive and laparoscopic surgical
techniques, especially in the field of
obesity surgery. While still a resident
physician, he authored many research
articles and presented at national
conferences.
Dr. Yu is also the Bariatric Medical
Director at Park Plaza Hospital in Houston,
Texas and performs single incision bariatric
procedures. |
| Duc Vuong, M.D.
 |
Dr. Vuong is a renowned Lap-Band surgeon from
the Houston area. He received his education at
Rice University and Texas A&M Medical School,
and completed surgical residency at St. Joseph's
Hospital in Houston in 2005.
His practice has been 100% bariatric surgery
since 2008 because he believes that a bariatric
surgeon should be 100% committed to his patients
and their particular needs. He asks for a lot
of commitment from his patients and feels that
it is only fair that he gives the same back to
them.
He is internationally recognized for his
development of a successful support group
program that keeps patients on track toward
their long-term weight loss goals. He knows
that preoperative education and postoperative
support groups are the keys to becoming a happy
and successful gastric band patient. He
personally leads support groups in his office up
to 3 times a week. His new book Ultimate
Lap-Band Success: The Support Surgeon’s Guide to
Getting More From Your Gastric Band is now
available, so he literally wrote the book on the
post-surgical needs of gastric band patients. |
